(WORK IN PROGRESS)

When the Medusa Chronicles first started bringing out superheroines and suggesting where they resided, the only mention was that Miss Adventure and her comrades lived in the City. They were sometimes referred to as the City's Finest, they saved the City from danger, worked with the City Police Department and had private lives-- and public, sometimes masked, ones-- in this place that was just simply called 'The City'. In fact, it almost became a bit of a running gag that the City had no other name, to the point that in one episode, Argo suggested that the City first started off as the Towne and grew up from there.
And really, that worked just fine for the Chronicles, where sometimes there were wild variances from one episode to the next. Characters had different last names, different backgrounds and even different mindsets in different branches, after all-- so naming the main city of superheroes and heroines as simply 'the City' was far easier to remember and didn't cause as much confusion. But as a milieu for a story or even a set of them, we slowly came to the conclusion that the City needed to have a name and a personality, almost as much as the characters that we were trying to write. And thus, Hub City was born.
The name was sort of obvious, to us, at least: Hub City is a center of commerce, of trade, of art and architecture and-- unfortunately for our heroines-- of assorted villainy. It has both the bright shining lights and towering skyscrapers of a city that has become a beacon to the future and the dark and seedy underbelly of a criminal haven. It has both the broad shoulders and blue collar work ethic of a metropolitan mecca and the white collar flair and entrepeneurism of a quiet suburb all around its downtown center. It boasts a population of over four million people, as well as most of the national and international chains, a several media outlets, a few international conglomerates' headquarters, six pro or semi-pro sports teams, and four college campuses within its boundaries.
In the time to come, we're hoping to 'flesh out' Hub City a bit more. As the setting for the lion's share of the superhero fiction here at G:A, Hub City deserves to be detailed almost as much as its safeguarding citizens do. So look for details on that as time progresses. And, as always, we encourage people to offer their own thoughts on places and people of Hub City, so feel free to contribute!
But that's probably not the only reason why you're here.
WHO'S WHO IN HUB CITY
(Comprising a partial list of the heroes, heroines, villains, thugs, deviants
and ne'er-do-wells of the city)
HUB CITY'S PROTECTORS... AND MALEFACTORS!
Of course, perhaps even more famous than Hub City itself are the people who have put the city on the forefront of the map. So here is your portal to more information on those people of particular note in Hub City, categorized by their team affiliation or status.
Please note that the files and information below is not always taken as canon directly from the Medusa Chronicles-- although often times we've tried to simplify our jobs by drawing from ideas and continuing storylines first pursued by creators there. Understand... as you'll find in any shared fiction that doesn't have the luxury of an impartial continuity editor, some data about the heroines at the MC either contradicted itself, was forgotten or just ignored, or was altered from branch to branch. (And we're not-- by any means-- saying we're above that sort of thing ourselves! We're as responsible as the next writer!) So in some cases, we've made changes from what you might see at the MC, mostly for our own-- and other writers'-- purposes.
Special thanks should go out to those who helped us to compile and create these personnel files through their own work at the Chronicles and their own ideas on new characters, their backgrounds, feelings, and their attitudes. And natch, for statuifying and objectifying them a lot, or letting us do the same. ^_^ This includes, but is not limited to: Dmuk, Panic, CMQ, Cobalt Jade, Alabastard, Tyler Kojen, Anne and Robin, and Alex the Great, among others. Where possible, proper credit has been given to characters that appear here that are not our own creations. New characters and teams may appear without warning. Some of them might even be ours.

Hub City is, as has often been
suggested, an expansive and still growing metropolis located off the Atlantic
Ocean, on the east coast of the United States. But that statement itself
could well describe over a dozen other large cities. How is Hub City any
different?
At the surface, the distinctions may not seem like much. Hub City boasts well over
four
million people settled and working within seven fairly distinctive regions,
ordinarily referred to as districts, ranging from the bustling blue-collar work
of the warehousing along the coast to the sprawling metroplex of Midtown and the
quiet communities on the outlying areas of the Highland District. These
districts tend to have their own distinctive flavor, as well. Historical
Hub City houses many of the oldest neighborhoods and edifices in town, while
Noveauburg is a much more progressive district renowned for its cutting-edge
flavor as well as art shops, galleries and museums. Northshore is
considered the up-and-coming suburb for urban professionals, growing at such a
rate that many consider it the Hub City of the Future.
But that's just a small taste of the flavor of Hub City's variety, to say
nothing of her costumed protectors or the more threatening influences of this
grand city. All of the districts are further subdivided-- generally-- into
neighborhoods, communities, business centers and suburbia, which are further
detailed on each district's page, along with the local flavor of each district.
We urge you to read and learn more below.
